Welcome to 2025!
The Do Good Jobs team is back on board this week, recharged and ready to help purpose-led organisations and jobseekers connect to amplify their impact this year.
We hope you all enjoyed a restful festive break and are ready to tackle whatever 2025 throws at us. Hopefully, it will be more settled than the previous few years! The results of our latest LinkedIn poll show that many of you are feeling more optimistic about this year than last and only a few were less optimistic. Some of you said, “Ask me again in a few months”. We get it - there have been so many ups and downs recently it can be hard to know what to think.
We’ll check back in with the mood at the end of Q1 when we do our first Labour Market Update for 2025.
As it’s the beginning of a whole new year, we thought we’d look to the future a little in this newsletter.
The future of jobs
The World Economic Forum released its Future of Jobs report recently, and it has some interesting data on what might and might not be a job in a few years time and what sort of skills we should be focusing on. And of course, the impact that AI and other tech might have on the sort of jobs we do, how we do them and how we recruit for them.
It’s predicting big changes - according to the report 92 million jobs may disappear over the next 5 years, but nearly 170 million new ones will emerge with “technological change, geoeconomic fragmentation, economic uncertainty, demographic shifts and the green transition – individually and in combination are among the major drivers expected to shape and transform the global labour market by 2030”.
Get an overview from these LinkedIn posts on the future of jobs, what skills you might need and the most rapidly increasing and declining jobs or read the full report here.
And on the subject of the future, here are a couple of blog posts from our blog thinking about how things might look in the future.
Is recruitment in your organisation’s future?
If you are planning recruitment soon, get it sorted with 20% off any listing until the end of January.
Got one role you need to fill but working to a budget? Buy a basic listing and get started without breaking the bank.
Want to make your role stand out? Buy an Enhanced or Premium listing and get higher up in the job listings and a spot in our weekly jobseeker newsletter sent to around 8000 purpose-led job seekers. Plus Premium listings get a paid social media ad campaign for extra visibility.
Got lots of roles to fill over the coming months? Buy a job pack and get sorted for recruitment now so you can be ready when your vacancy is. You can buy a pack of 3,5 or 10 listing credits which can be used at any time over the next year.
Whichever listing type you choose you benefit from getting your role in front of engaged job seekers who not only have the skills you need but also share your organisation’s values and want to make a difference.
Use the code NY20OFF when you purchase to get your discount.
What would you like to see from Do Good Jobs in the future?
We’re in the planning space this month at Do Good Jobs and we’d love you to help us do that. Tell us what you’d like to see more of from us or what you'd like to see change - maybe a blog topic you’d like us to cover or a change that could make listing your next role or applying for a new job easier.
We’d also love to hear from you if you’ve recently hired through or found a job through Do Good Jobs. Your stories help us tell other people how Do Good Jobs makes an impact.
